Mission:
The purpose of the Ogden School Foundation is to enhance educational opportunities for the students of the Ogden School District
Areas of Focus:
- Literacy – classroom books, fall and elementary author events, accelerated reading programs, middles school media center upgrades
- Math & Science – microscopes, math manipulatives, Living Planet Aquarium, Hansen Planetarium Van, High School Science Equipment, Environmental Center field trips
- The Arts – live theater (SUU Shakespeare Productions, Children’s Theater of SLC), PTSA Reflection Awards, pottery kiln/art supplies, visiting artists, Festival of the Arts
- Technology – software, hardware, training materials, in kind computer donations
How We Give Funds:
- Major Grant Projects – Projects from $10,000 - $300,000 designed to meet special needs in the District – Band Uniforms, Musical Instruments, Media Centers Upgrade, Science Equipment, Calculators
- School Priority Grants – Individual Elementary schools may request up to $4,000 for projects and Secondary schools up to $6,000 – Video Lab, Accelerated Reading Program, Computers, Accelerated Math Program, Violins
- Impact Grants - offer teachers and administrators an expanded opportunity to apply for grants up to $1,000. Although these grants will require some additional preparation and evaluation, they will also allow increased funding for meaningful projects that could not be funded through normal school budgets. Impact Grants will be available up to $1,000 to support creative, measurable and impactful projects that support higher levels of student learning. These larger grants with their more detailed application and defined reporting method will allow the Foundation to more fully meet donor expectations and report the impact their donations make in our schools.
- Minigrants – Teachers may request up to $500 per year to enhance education in their classrooms - Maps and Globes, Classroom Novels, Field Trips, Software, Supplies, Manipulatives, Astro Camp visits
- Other Requests – The Foundation will accept requests throughout the year to meet various needs as they arise.
