The Mission of the Ogden School Foundation

Mission:

The purpose of the Ogden School Foundation is to enhance educational opportunities for the students of the Ogden School District

Areas of Focus:

  • Literacy – classroom books, fall and elementary author events, accelerated reading programs, middles school media center upgrades
  • Math & Science – microscopes, math manipulatives, Living Planet Aquarium, Hansen Planetarium Van, USU Junior Engineering Fair, High School Science Equipment, Environmental Center field trips
  • The Arts – live theater (Young Company Plays, SUU Shakespeare Productions, Children’s Theater of SLC), PTSA Reflection Awards, pottery kiln/art supplies, visiting artists, Festival of the Arts
  • Technology – software, hardware, zip drives, training materials, in kind computer donations

How We Give Funds:

  • Major Grant Projects – Projects from $10,000 - $300,000 designed to meet special needs in the District – Band Uniforms, Musical Instruments, Media Centers Upgrade, Science Equipment, Calculators
  • Incentives For Excellence – Individual Elementary schools may request up to $4,000 for projects and Secondary schools up to $6,000 – Video Lab, Accelerated Reading Program, Computers, Accelerated Math Program, Violins
  • Minigrants – Teachers may request up to $500 per year to enhance education in their classrooms -  Maps and Globes, Classroom Novels, Field Trips, Software, Microscopes, Manipulatives, Astro Camp visits
  • Other Requests – The Foundation will accept requests throughout the year to meet various needs as they arise.
