2020 Raptors Sponsors

We're still so sad that we had to cancel our 2020 Raptors Event due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. We love coming together to celebrate our students at the beginning of the school year! However, our amazing sponsors didn't cancel their support and we are so appreciative! Thank you to these and all of our sponsors for continually showing up for the students in Ogden!

2020 Raptors Event Canceled

We know there's no crying in baseball, but we've had to make the tough decision to cancel our 2020 Raptors Event and we are heartbroken! We were so looking forward to spending an evening celebrating our students as we begin the school year. However, due to recent concerns with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to ensure the safety of our students and community members at this event. We appreciate all that our community is doing to support education during these unprecedented times and are looking forward to our 2021 Raptors Event!

Crayons for Kids Service Project

Due to COVID-19 regulations, our elementary students are no longer allowed to share art supplies such as crayons, colored pencils, watercolors, etc. The Ogden School District has approximately 3,300 students who participate in art instruction in our elementary schools, and our elementary art specialists need our help to provide 3,300 individual art kits for these students! So how can you help? Below is a list of items that our teachers are hoping to include in each individual art kit:

  • Sketch Pads and/or loose white drawing paper (thicker high-quality)
  • Crayons (24 per box)
  • Black Sharpies (regular size, fine point)
  • #2 pencils (pre-sharpened preferred)
  • Sharpeners (compact size, high-quality with screw-on lid preferred)
  • Erasers (large size)
  • Glue Sticks
  • Washable Color Markers (set of 8)
  • Individual Watercolor Paint and Brush Sets (24 per set)
  • Pastels (set of 12)

Supplies can be dropped off at Bennions Craft located at 4335 Harrison Blvd.

Monetary donations may also be made on our Donation Page here. Please select "Elementary Art Kits" in the dropdown menu.

Thank you to the Ogden Utah Weber Heights Stake for partnering with us to make sure our students are still able to participate in the arts in the upcoming school year!

2020 Golf Classic

Our 2020 Golf Classic held at the beautiful Wolf Creek Resort was a huge success, thanks to our many sponsors, golfers, board members, volunteers, and community partners! Beautiful weather, breathtaking scenery, friendly competition, and so much support for the students in the Ogden School District made it a perfect day! At a time when things feel a little uncertain, one thing we ARE certain of is this: we live in a great community! This event raised over $94,000 for our students! Funds raised will be used to support our Classroom Grants Program. To see more great photos, visit our Photo Gallery here.

Jose Chacon Dare to Dream Fund in Honor of Mr. Doug Stephens

We are excited to announce a new opportunity to support the students at Ben Lomond High School! Each year, as many as 150 students at BLHS do not have the $30 registration fee required to enroll in concurrent enrollment classes, which enables high school students to receive college credit during high school. This not only saves money for the student in the future, but often provides the first impetus for a student to attain higher education opportunities. One such student was Class of 2011 Alum Jose Chacon.

As a high school junior, Jose was unable to cover the $30 registration fee for the Weber State University Concurrent Enrollment  Program for his American History class, but his teacher, Mr. Doug Stephens, quietly paid the fee so that Jose could earn the college credit. Mr. Stephens let Jose know that "we couldn't let a few dollars stop you." Since that time, Jose was the first in his family to graduate from high school, the first to go on to college, and has earned a degree in Chemistry from WSU. He made a promise to himself that one day, he would pay it forward. "I want to build a future where money is not an issue for children to dare to dream," he said.

Jose has made good on his promise, making the first donation to the newly established Jose Chacon Dare to Dream Fund in Honor of Mr. Doug Stephens, but we need your help to reach our goal of $5,000 so that we can help even more deserving BLHS students on their path to educational success!
