One of the things we love most about this community is how often people ask, “How can I help?” Starting today, every Wednesday we'll be sharing a simple way you can support students in the Ogden School District. Because when a community comes together on behalf of its children, incredible things happen.
This week's need is a simple one: magazines!
Our school social workers use magazines in a variety of student support activities, including vision boards, "glimmer" projects, self-reflection masks, and happy books. These creative activities help students identify moments of joy, safety, connection, and resilience while building confidence and strengthening emotional well-being.

The 2026-27 school year will be here before we know it, but first, we're celebrating some of the amazing things we accomplished together in 2025-26! Let's start with these numbers: more than 1,000 classroom grants and $773,000 in funding awarded in a single school year to support students and educators across the Ogden School District. Incredible! Through our Classroom Grants Program, every educator has access to funding for materials, supplies, technology, field trips, and other opportunities that go beyond what school budgets can cover, helping create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for students throughout the district.

Last week, we celebrated another incredible year with our Ogden School Foundation Board Members, spouses, family members, foundation staff, and friends at an appreciation dinner hosted by our 2025-26 Board President, Jake Goodell. We are so lucky to work alongside a group of people who care so much about the students of the Ogden School District and generously give their time, talents, and energy to support our mission. We are grateful for every board member, volunteer, partner, and supporter who helps make this work possible (including those who couldn't join us that evening!). Thank you for an outstanding 2025-26 school year. We couldn't do it without you!

Last week, we spent a pretty spectacular day at Wolf Creek for our 2026 Golf Classic! Mountain views, great golf, delicious food, and an incredible community coming together to support students. What a day! A huge thank you to our presenting sponsor, Ascent Credit Union, our 144 golfers, and all of the sponsors, volunteers, and board members who made this event possible. Because of the support of our community, we're able to continue creating opportunities for students across the Ogden School District, and we couldn't be more grateful.
We made it to the last day of school! Our Foundation team has loved supporting our students and educators this school year. We continue to be inspired by the amazing things happening in classrooms across the district and are so grateful for our community that consistently shows up for our schools. We’re so grateful to Hogan & Associates Construction for partnering with us to establish the Hogan Construction Teacher Resiliency Recognition Award, honoring educators who continue showing up for students while navigating personal hardships of their own. Dave Andersen from Hogan & Associates Construction joined our Executive Director Brynn Murdock to award recipients with a $500 gift to help ease financial burdens they may be facing. We’re honored to support the resiliency of our educators and express our appreciation to Hogan for their continued generosity.

When a request is made, a volunteer receives a $150 gift card to shop for the child’s needs. After shopping, the volunteer delivers the items directly to the school, where the educator can ensure the child receives them with care. The KIND Fund is active in 15 school districts across Utah and has provided clothing and essentials to over 8,700 students, surpassing $1.4 million in total support. In the Ogden School District alone, the KIND Fund has helped more than 2,400 students over the past four years, contributing over $390,000 in assistance. We are so grateful to the Young Automotive Group and the Young Caring For Our Young Foundation for their dedication to the young people in our community!

Gestures like this remind our teachers and staff that their hard work matters and that their impact reaches far beyond the classroom. We’re so grateful for community partners who take the time to celebrate and support our schools.
We loved spending time at OTECH High with our friends from the Samuel C. and Myra G. Powell Foundation and seeing firsthand the incredible work happening there. OTECH High students have the opportunity to access hands-on programs through Ogden-Weber Technical College that build job skills and lead to industry certifications, all while staying on track to meet their high school graduation requirements. These students are thriving as they prepare for their futures in college, careers, and beyond!

We are so grateful to Beehive Meals for generously donating freezer meals to teachers at several elementary schools across Ogden School District! After a very busy school year, these meals help make dinnertime easier for our educators and serve as a thoughtful way to show appreciation for all they do for students every day. Talk about a grand slam of creativity! ⚾🧢 A big congratulations to the three talented student winners from 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade at Shadow Valley Elementary! Last week, Ogden Raptors players visited the school to surprise students and announce the winning designs from the Ogden Raptors hat design contest. Students in grades 1–3 stepped up to the plate with so many awesome and creative submissions, and one winning design was selected from each grade level to be featured on special edition Raptors hats worn at select games and sold as official fan merchandise. Even better, a portion of the proceeds from every hat sold will be donated back to the Ogden School Foundation to support students and educators across our schools. Home run!

With the Drum and Dance School Program making its way through several of our elementary schools, students aren’t just learning about music, they’re experiencing it. From exploring rhythm and tempo to getting hands-on in drum circles, students are learning about different types of percussion instruments, trying new techniques, and discovering the power of making music together. This opportunity is made possible through support from the Ogden School Foundation, Weber County RAMP, and the Weber State University Arts Learning Collaborative. We love to bring experiences like this into our schools!

Because of their generosity, every student at select elementary schools will receive a summer meal punch card for 10 free meals at Burger King. Summer can be a tough time for students facing food insecurity, and this support makes a real difference for families in our community.
